Terms of use

These terms cover your use of starthingwind.com, which Star Thing LLC runs. They don't cover a surplus claim with us: only a signed service agreement does that. Last updated October 27, 2026.

This site is information, not an offer

This site explains how we work. Nothing on it, and nothing we say by phone, text or email, is an offer or a contract. Our offer is the written service agreement we send you to sign, and nothing is binding until you and Star Thing LLC have both signed it.

Our tools give estimates only

Our tools (the deadline calculator, surplus estimator, Florida Clerk fee calculator and self-filing checklist) use the numbers and answers you enter and general information. They give estimates and general information only. They aren't legal, tax or financial advice, and the office holding the money has the final word. Nothing you type in them leaves your browser.

State information

Our state and county pages summarize laws and office procedures as of when we last reviewed them. Laws change. Each law we name links to its full text, and the official text controls. Nothing on this site is legal advice; talk to an attorney about your situation.

We're not a law firm or the government

Star Thing LLC is not a law firm and is not the government. You can always file a claim yourself with no recovery fee (a court or notary may charge a small fee).

Texts and calls

If you ask us to text or call you, the consent wording you agreed to applies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

Privacy and accessibility

Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it. Our accessibility statement explains how to ask for help or another format.

Using the site

Please don't try to disrupt the site, get around its security, or use it to send spam. Links to other sites, such as official statute and county sites, are for your information; we don't control those sites.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Nothing in them limits any right you have under a law that can't be waived.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions: email [email protected] or call or text (917) 920-5868.
